She’s Geeky Network Staff

Staff Info

Trina Finton- CEO

If you ask Trina, she was born a geek girl at heart. Starting with the Atari 2600, Trina was quickly hooked. By eight she was programming games in Basic and starting her collection of comic books. Trina has appeared on panels and been interviewed about her strong opinions about women in gaming and technology fields. If she’s not working on GamingAngels.com, she might be cheering on the Vikings, playing videogames or reading Twitter.

Most recently, Trina has been voted Fast Company’s Top Women in Games in 2010, featured on NBC LA twice as an expert in Women in Gaming, and is launching the first Women’s Media Network focused on geeky subjects. We also gave away our first scholarship for a young girl to attend National Computer Camp.

Tiffany Nevin – News Editor

Tiffany’s been gaming since the Apple II existed, so…well, that’s been a while. Currently, she plays a little of everything, from World of Warcraft to No More Heroes. She may or may not have an obsession with Portal that borders on unhealthy. She is an unapologetic Mac gamer. In her other life, Tiffany is a graduate student, currently working on her master’s degree in counseling. If you try to take her Razer Naga away from her, she will probably cut you.

Stephanie Summers – Senior MMO Editor

Based in New York City, Stephanie Summers has written for GamingAngels.com since 2008. As the site’s Senior Gaming and MMO Editor, she has focused on covering the hottest games and the biggest gaming events in North America. While a major fan of RPGs, Action/Adventure and quirky Casual titles, MMO’s have proved to be her major expertise on the site. In the past, she has helmed the monthly “State of Azeroth” World of Warcraft report and the “/info” weekly MMO roundup. Currently, while not invested in episodes of My Little Pony or creating geeky cross stitches, she can be heard as a co-host of Bottom Line Live, a weekly pro wrestling podcast on GKick.net (part of the Gaming Angels network).

Keri Honea – Shooter Gaming Editor

Keri Honea is somewhat of a late-in-life gamer as she wasn’t allowed to play video games growing up. It wasn’t until she bought a PlayStation 2 for her husband one Christmas that she even thought about playing video games. Within a year, she was playing the PS2 far more often than her husband. Now she is the proud owner–not the husband–of virtually every common video game device (even the PSPgo) except for the Wii.

As for writing, Keri has been doing that since she first picked up a pencil. She is a professional writer by trade, and she has written for several other video gaming sites, including the now defunct Kombo, Games Are Evil, Game Revolution, and 148apps. She is also the owner and Editor-in-Chief for StrategyGuideReviews.com.

Keri has been a fan of Gaming Angels for several years, and she jumped at the chance to be the Angels’ new shooter expert when the opportunity opened up. Favorite shooters: Halo and Gears of War

Beth Johnson – Editor

Beth Johnson is a writer, gamer, student, wife, and mother, amongst many other things. She first played Dungeons & Dragons on the Intellivision when she was 7 years old and has been hooked on RPGs ever since. Her current MMOs include World of Warcraft, Rift, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. She reads a ton of fantasy and science fiction, loves dragons and her three cats, and distracts herself with casual games on Facebook whenever she manages to pull herself away from her homework. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in physics while working as an intern wherever she can (NASA? Please?). On Friday nights she can be found helping out at her local comic book store, and on Saturdays she plays Pathfinder with her gaming group. Additionally, she is a founding member of the Geek Girls Book Club and an old-time Callahanian (Spider Robinson’s Callahan’s Cross-time Saloon).

Monique Caraballo – Editor

Sparkly shoes and tattooed, Monique is a sickeningly happily married mom of four Minions, whose 20+ year love of all things geeky has infiltrated every portion of her existence. This chaos connoisseur works {if you can call it that} at home in numerous tech capacities and in her limited free time she’s a photographer, writes a stunningly mediocre blog on parenting and whines about the perpetual caffeine shortage in her home. All of which makes her smile maniacally.

Summer Suzuki – Editor

Summer sprang forth fully grown from the forehead of a koopa, lusting for nothing less than revenge upon a world so cruel as to subject its people to 5 super horrendous movies based (that word was never used so loosely than in this case) on “The X-Men”. When not contemplating either the most effective way to dominate the known universe or who would win in a fight the Unstoppable Juggernaut or the Immoveable Blob over a plate of chili cheese fries, she’s either watching an obscene amount of television and movies, reading comics and any book she can get her hands on, dying a lot in every video game ever created, or drawing and painting since she still thinks she can grow up to be an illustrator one of these days. Oh, and she’s probably crudely arguing out loud about all those activities to herself since she hasn’t figured out how to teach her dogs, Toki Wartooth and Arya Stark, English yet.

Natasha Schuyler- Intern/News Editor

Natasha Schuyler is magazine journalism student at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She has played video games since she can remember. Watching her parent’s competitiveness over Tetris Attack on the SNES made her start falling in the love with video games. She decided she could actually get a job working for a gaming publication after watching X-Play and reading PlayStation Magazine. She is now getting her start interning for Gaming Angels. Her favorite genres are RPGs and puzzle games. You can find her obsessively checking Twitter @Neteshy and read her blog entries whenever something upsets her at www.neteshy.com.
